It all began with two troubled dogs…

“All my experience with exotic animals…did not prepare me for the challenges of living with two dogs with behavioral issues.”

After another distressing dog walk, I found myself in a vulnerable moment, locked in the bathroom, overcome with tears. The challenge of addressing my dogs' behavioral issues left me feeling totally lost. Despite my background working with exotic animals in various settings, from zoos to wildlife facilities, I felt ill-equipped to deal with the complexities of my two dogs' behavior. While I had experience dealing with dogs with issues in the past, including training a resource-guarding dog and adopting a Pekingese with a troubled history, I believed I had the knowledge and skills to help my current dogs. However, I soon realized I was mistaken.

Determined to find a solution, I delved into research, interviewed trainers, devoured numerous books, and enrolled in professional dog training courses. Over the course of twelve years, I dedicated myself to studying dog behavior, effective training techniques, animal behavior applications, canine conditioning, fear/anxiety/aggression management, ethology, separation anxiety, gait and posture analysis, and much more.

The Boys…the ones that started it all

Howard and Richard . . . the ones that started it all

Hello, I'm Jennifer Phillips, and I am enthusiastic about integrating my diverse experience and education into tailored programs for my clients. Drawing from my background in exotic animals, particularly in behavioral enrichment, husbandry, and environmental design, along with my extensive education, I take a holistic approach to assist dogs. My primary focus is enhancing the dog's quality of life and improving the owner's experience.

With years of animal-related learning and hands-on experience, my philosophy centers on one essential query: "How can we make our dogs happy?"

Addressing an animal's needs minimizes stress and unwanted behaviors. Establishing an environment that stimulates dogs mentally and physically is crucial for their well-being and ensures a harmonious relationship between the pet and its owner.
